ACIDO: Since 1948, ACIDO has been the official voice of Industrial Design in Ontario. Industrial Designers shape our world through products, services, and experiences. ACIDO is proud to be the home of this community. Since 1984 we’ve carried a mandate from the Government of Ontario to support the objectives of the profession and qualify its practitioners. Today we have vastly more powerful tools and deeply insightful methods at our fingertips, allowing Industrial Designers to inform the innovation process as never before. As observers of user needs and identifiers of market expectations, we have a vital role to play in meeting challenges of the future. ACIDO brings Industrial Designers together to build an understanding of emerging and established best practices in our rapidly evolving field. Chartered Industrial Designers are fully qualified and active participants in a community committed to design excellence, recognizing that impactful innovation requires balanced social, commercial, technological and environmental consideration. SEGD:We are the global, multidisciplinary community of professionals who plan, design, and build experiences that connect people to place. We are Graphic and Information Designers, Fabricators, Architects, Exhibit Designers, Technology Integrators, Interaction Designers, Industrial Designers, Brand Strategists, Students, Wayfinding Specialists, Teachers, and others who have a hand in shaping content-rich, experiential spaces. We are a community of over 1,800 members in 35 countries who gather in 27 local chapters around the world.
